Statement of Work / Design Engagement
A statement of work or design engagement is analogous to having blue prints developed for building a custom home. In this stage of the solution life cycle, the customers detail pain points are addressed with various options that map into the environment and considerations set forth in a framework audit engagement.
The deliverable is a statement of work document that includes diagrams and summaries of the solution from both a technology integration perspective as well as a high-level user experience perspective. This is a collaborative process that often goes through several reviews with all interested parties to develop design refinements that ultimately leave the customer with a complete picture of what the final solution will look like.
The purpose of the Design Engagement is to map the business strategy with a technical architecture.
